The Veterinary Assistant Program teaches the basics of becoming a Veterinary Assistant.

It is designed to prepare students for the duties and responsibilities of a Veterinary Assistant.

It covers the following topics:

• Ethical standards

It consists of 16 Lessons, all of which are self-paced and conducted 100% online.

It requires 240 hours and costs $1,425.

Courses Offered

The Veterinary Assistant Program exposes students to all practical aspects of a veterinary practice.

It teaches the following essential knowledge and skills to become a veterinary assistant:

The curriculum follows the Texas Veterinary Medical Association guidelines for its Certified Veterinary Assistant Program.

It requires 128 classroom hours and 500 externship hours.

It costs $3,000.

Upon successful completion, students can test for the Texas Certification Level I examination.

They can then sit for the Level II examination after completing 6 months of practical work experience.

And, after completing another 6 months of practical work experience, they become eligible for the Level III examination.
